1. Essential session cookie
When you sign in on the website, Helmsay stores the session in one HttpOnly cookie. Page script cannot read it. In production the cookie is Secure, SameSite=Lax, Path=/, and has no Domain attribute. The desktop app does not use this cookie.
2. What this site does not use
Helmsay does not set advertising cookies. It does not use cookies to follow you across other websites.
3. How long it lasts
Keep me signed in keeps that session cookie longer. Otherwise it is a shorter session. Signing out clears it. Blocking cookies in the browser signs the website out. The desktop app keeps working either way.
4. Product news
Product news is off unless you check the optional box when you create an account. That choice is not a cookie.
